Braun ThermoScan measures the infrared heat generated by the eardrum and surrounding tissue. The ear accurately reflects the core body temperature because the eardrum shares the blood supply with the temperature control center in the brain, making the ear an excellent site to measure temperature. The memory function recalls the last temperature reading allowing you to keep track of fluctuations. The ExacTemp® positioning system uses a light and a beep to confirm proper positioning. Temperatures can be read in Fahrenheit and Celsius.
FAQs
Question: How can I view the last temperature taken on my thermometer?
Answer: The ThermoScan® 5 stores the last 9 temperature measurements. To display the stored measurement, the thermometer must be turned on. Press the Mem button. The display shows the temperature, and when releasing the Mem button, the stored temperature for that memory number is displayed, together with “M”. Each time the Mem button is pushed, the stored reading and an M is displayed to indicate each temperature measurement (e.g. M2). Memory mode is automatically exited by not pressing the memory button for 5 seconds.
Question: How do I use the Braun Lens Filter?
Answer: To avoid inaccurate measurements ALWAYS use this thermometer with a new, clean lens filter attached.
If the thermometer is accidentally used without a lens filter attached, clean the lens.
The lens filter indicator will blink to signal one is needed.
Attach a new lens filter by pushing the thermometer probe straight into the lens filter inside the box and then pulling out.
For the next measurement, press Eject button to remove and discard used lens filter, and put on a new, clean lens filter. For models without and eject button (ThermoScan® 3 and 4), pull off lens filter and discard.
Note: The Braun ThermoScan® will not work unless a lens filter is attached.

I have had a couple different bedside commodes in the past and they didn’t last long, the drop side bars were very flimsy and I was scared to trust them. But this bariatric commode is certainly the best I’ve ever bought. The drop bars and the legs are very strong and sturdy and I can trust using this 💯!!! I didn’t buy it for the weight usage but for the extra seating space when I transfer and slide over ! It’s perfect for me!!
This bed is a good one; it arrive in 6 days and was not difficult to set up. It weighs over 300 lbs so you will need help bringing it in. The bed rails are a little small. It is sturdy and not hard to move as needed.
