Application
1. Lock wheelchair brakes and rotate footrests to the sides of the wheelchair.
2. Assist resident into the wheelchair and seat him/her as far back on the seat as possible.
3. Position the footrests to the front of the chair and place the resident’s feet on them.
4. Place cushion on resident’s lap making certain that the words “This side faces resident” are facing the resident. Bring Velcro® straps over the armrest support bars on the left and right sides of the wheelchair. Fasten by pressing the “hook” material against the “loop” material.
Important notice: The Velcro® closures are intended only to keep the Lift-Off Lap Cushion in place. They will release easily if the resident stands up. Do not use this device as restraint.
5. The resident may release the Velcro® closures by placing his/her hands through the red loops and bringing his/her hands forward.

Cleaning
The Lift-Off Lap Cushion may be cleaned with a spray-type cleanser and a damp cloth or sponge. A mild disinfectant may be used. Do not launder.

Important notice
Because of its easy-release design, the Lift-Off Lap Cushion should not be used as a restraint, nor should it used to control sliding.
