The Med-Mizer Retractabed has been designed with a space saving safety feature most beds just cannot offer.  Instead of just pushing the head section forward when raised to the sit-up position, the Retractabed gently brings the bed deck back towards the wall. This feature keeps you within reach of items placed on your nightstand, such as a glass of water, your favorite book or a T.V. remote. The bed also offers an optional pair of Med-Support 2-position safety rails. The high rail position can be used as a leverage point or stand assist, the mid rail position works as a half rail, and the lowered position places the rail evenly with the mattress. The electronic bed controls are conveniently located on the 3-position hand pendant. The bed lowers to 8.5" from the ground for safe and easy transfers. 

There are two frame types available on the Retractabed. The standard frame is the fixed frame that has no width adjustability and measures 80” long by 35” wide. The Variable Width Frame is available as an option. The Variable Width allows for the bed frame to be adjusted from widths of 35” to 39” and up to 42”.

Why We Like It 

The Retractabed also offers Clinical Contour Positioning, an exclusive feature that reduces skin shear and the sliding.  The simple-to-use control allows you to activate the head and knee sections simultaneously, creating a comfortable 12 to 15 degree knee break. This positioning feature prevents the risk of sliding the patient toward the foot of the bed when repositioning.  The HI/Low function buttons are on hand pendant.The Retractabed also comes standard with drainage bag hooks for the convenience of the caregiver, PLUS the Retractabed rolls at any height.

Easy to Store
The Retractabed can be collapsed for storage without having to take the bed apart. The storage feature allows the bed to be folded in an up-right rollable position which only requires about 4 square feet of floor space for storage. 

Panel Options
Head and footboard panels come in four attractive veneers that are sure to match any decor. Choose from Light Oak, English Oak, Mahogany or Cherry. 

Mattress Options
Three different types of mattress are available for the Retractabed and both types are available in either an 80" or 84" length. Choose from the Med-Mizer Deluxe Prevention surface, the Med-Mizer Shearless Basic Prevention surface or the Med-Mizer Shearless Elite Surface. What You Need To Know When Ordering

Unless you choose otherwise, your Retractabed will be delivered via FREE curbside delivery, to your home in a large, heavy box. It is best to arrange for someone to help you get your bed inside the house and set up. Our White Glove Delivery option is also available, which includes setting up your new bed and removing all wrapping and packaging. Your mattress and side rails may ship separately from the bed, which means that they will require their own personal set-up and will not be included under the White Glove Delivery option.
