When you’re out and about, and and someone in your group has special needs, it’s not always easy to be inclusive when it comes to seating arrangements. In sports stadiums, movie theaters, at concerts, school, your favorite neighborhood restaurant and even at your own kitchen table, people who require postural support to sit for any length of time probably can’t sit where everyone else is sitting. Sometimes, it even limits their ability to participate. How many times have you heard or said, "they can’t go, they can’t sit that long in those seats"?

Until Now! Special Tomato has created the Out & About Seat (OAS) that provides comfortable upper body support using a padded, adjustable 8-Point Harness System and height adjustable Headrest. It will change where your family member with special needs can take a seat and remain comfortably seated while out with family and friends. The Special Tomato OAS can be attached to most standard, stable chairs that have a minimum seat back height of 14”. Once the child is properly seated, the 3-Point Pelvic Harness and 5-Point Chest Harness help to maintain a stable well-aligned position of the pelvis and trunk. Slots are available at 5 different heights on the base fabric back for the threading of shoulder straps. This ensures proper angle of pull and accommodates for growth of the child. The adjustable height headrest promotes a midline position of the head. When a child is properly supported in a well-aligned upright sitting position, energy that would have gone to squirming to get comfortable or just to maintain a sitting position can now go to attending to and participating in the experience they can be included in.

The Out & About Seat (OAS) can also be used to provide additional postural support to strollers, trolleys, pushchairs and some ADA Compliant swings provided that all OAS attachment straps can be securely tightened to the frame of the seat.

Do you think more support is needed? The Optional Special Tomato Soft-Touch Liners that you’ve come to know and trust can be integrated into this system! These contoured seat and back cushions are made from a proprietary blend of non-toxic, latex-free materials. They are soft, lightweight and extremely durable. Seamless, impermeable to fluids but breathable, microbe resistant, peel and tear resistant, they are easily wiped clean. Contours enhance lateral (side) support, promote good posture and improve comfort by providing a large surface area for the distribution of pressure. Seat Cushions are available in sizes 2-4. Back Cushions are available in Sizes 1-4. These cost-effective cushions are easily replaced to accommodate growth.

AND the lightweight, easy to clean OAS is easily folded (even with optional seat and back liners) and is equipped with backpack straps to allow for hands free transport! A perfect portable package for families on the go!

Exclusions:
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from misuse, tampering, unauthorized modifications, accidents, or normal wear and tear. Routine maintenance, cleaning, and aesthetic changes due to regular use are also excluded from coverage.

Return within 30 days of receipt for a refund. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping, and the product must be in the original packaging. Requests submitted outside the applicable return window will be automatically denied. No exceptions will be made for delayed requests.

This item has a 25% Restocking Fee. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping. The product must be new and unused and in the original packaging. All accessories and items that were included in the box must be returned. Items canceled after the product has already shipped will be considered a return. Delivery and service fees are not refundable.

An RA (Return Authorization) from Shop Home Med must be requested within 30 days of delivery. The item must be shipped back to the address noted on the RA within 14 days.

Once approved, your refund, minus any restocking and freight fees, will be issued to your original form of payment.

We strongly suggest White Glove Assembly for people purchasing products to be delivered to out-of-town family members or friends who may need assistance getting their product into their home, unpacked and set up.
