View Full DetailsRollators are walker aids for individuals with mobility problems. They support and stabilize people as they walk, adding to their mobility. Rollators are popular as people find them comfortable and practical. The regular and constant use of a rollator accelerates its deterioration over time. Everyday wear includes fraying wheels, loosened brakes, and worn-down grips.
Once your rollator starts to show signs of wear and tear, itβs good to know that replacement parts are available, so you donβt have to replace the entire rollator. You save money, extend the device's life, and stay mobile.Β
At ShopHomeMed, you can find a wide range of replacement parts to help you, carers, or repair specialists refurbish or upgrade components of your rollator.
Rollator replacement parts are the individual components of the rollator mobility aid that can be removed or replaced if they break or wear out, or if you want a different configuration. Such parts can range from the simple mechanical components, such as wheels, handles, grips, and knobs, all the way up to more complex assemblies like brake units, frames, height-adjustable handles, or accessory sets.
Spare parts are made to the original manufacturer's specifications for exact fit and safe operation. They conform to the applicable mobility and medical device legislation. When you choose original replacement parts, you can rest assured that the rollator continues to meet design tolerances, weight capacity, braking performance, and user requirements.
The replacement of parts for a rollator depends on the component being changed and the tools available. It also depends on the user's technical expertise.Β
Some components are user-friendly and straightforward, such as handle grips, accessory sets (e.g., bottle or cane stick holders), cup holder fittings, backrest knobs, and bolts. For instance, the Nitro cup holder can be installed toolβfree.
It is more complicated to replace casters (front or rear caster wheels), brake units, or height-adjustable handles. If you need to change the wheels, you must remove the axles, bolts, and bearings, and then align them, which can sometimes result in ruined threads or stuck bolts. Brake cable units must be routed, tightened, and adequately tested. For higher-priced models, components such as brake hand assemblies, handlebar assemblies, and the rear assembly are more precisely matched and harder to replace.Β
Simple parts can be easily replaced by the average user at home. If you need to change more complicated, load-bearing, or safety-critical parts, a technician or mobility service is generally the best and safest solution.
Rollators come in different types and configurations depending on user needs, terrain, weight capacity, and features. Here are some examples. Donβt forget to check all the rollators available on our ShopHomeMed site.
Are you looking for a rollator for indoor and outdoor use? The Nitro family by Drive Medical offers several models, including the standard Nitro rollator, which features a lightweight aluminum frame, an internally routed brake, 25 cm front casters, and a soft back.Β
If you prefer a lightweight model, check out the Drive Medical Nitro Euro Style Rollator. This rollator features a lightweight aluminum frame with built-in brake cables, large 10-inch front casters for smooth rolling, and the added feature of folding compactly with one hand for easy storage and transport.Β
In the ultra-lightweight category, you can find the Feather Mobility Rollator 11X, which weighs only 11 pounds and is made entirely from carbon fiber, making it one of the world's lightest rollators.Β
For customers seeking a practical and versatile mobility solution, the Nitro Duet is available, offering both rollator and transport wheelchair functionality with a reversible backrest and a 300-pound weight capacity.
A rollator can improve the lives of people with mobility issues, as it provides them with the freedom to move around without assistance. The best way to keep your rollator in good condition for many years is to replace worn parts as they wear down.Β
Worn-out tires or brake components can make it difficult to stop and cause stability issues, potentially leading to a trip or tipover. Replace worn wheel brakes or wheel locks to improve your rollatorβs safety.
Over time, grips can become stiff, slippery, or painful. Adjust or replace the handle grip to make your rollator easier to use. Likewise, the backrest bolt and knob can loosen or break. When you replace these parts, you guarantee your comfort and safety.Β
Rollators often come with upgrades, including cup holders, cane holders, and bottle holders. Once you have used your rollator for a while, you will know which accessories you want to add to make it more convenient for your specific needs.Β
A good practice is to replace a part before it fails and causes a severe breakdown. For example, if a wheel breaks but is not replaced, it may damage the frame or bearings, resulting in additional repair costs. When you maintain and replace parts as they wear down, you avoid the expense of replacing the whole device. It makes financial sense!Β
Your needs change and vary. Height-adjustable handles may require replacement or adjustment to secure a proper fit. Rougher ground can require larger wheels or other tyres. You may also choose to add or remove attachments.Β
Substitute parts can keep rollators safe, comfortable, and working perfectly. There are many replacement parts, handle grips, wheels, brakes, knobs, and accessory kits to keep rollators rolling, fix wear and tear, and make adjustments for individual needs and preferences.Β
Some replacements are simple and can be done at home, while others require specialized technical skills, specific tools, or professional expertise. Before ordering spare parts for your rollator, check the model and part number to confirm you purchase the correct part at the right cost. Itβs always better and more budget-conscious to replace parts instead of the whole unit.Β

First, confirm the specific model (for example, Nitro, Black Nitro, Mini Nitro, Tall Nitro, or Nitro Duet). Next, verify part numbers or datasheet diagrams, as several Nitro models share standard components, including grips, wheels, and brakes. Always match left/right handle grips, wheel sizes, and brake assemblies.
You can generally replace basic parts (grips, accessory pack, cup holders, knobs) yourself with ordinary tools. Wheels, brake systems, or frame-related replacements (especially on heavy-duty or carbon fiber frames) should be performed by a qualified technician for maximum safety and alignment standards.
Prices vary. A low-cost component, such as a handle grip or backrest knob, may cost less than $50, while a replacement wheel would cost slightly more, around $60. More expensive models or premium parts (carbon fiber parts, heavy-duty parts) will cost more.
Manufacturers like Drive Medical typically continue to offer parts for discontinued products for a period, pending stock and demand. Some parts are eventually no longer available. It is a good idea to purchase necessary spare parts while they are still in stock and to check with approved dealers.
If you purchase genuine or manufacturer-approved substitute parts, they are covered by the warranty. If you choose nonβgenuine or inappropriate parts that can reduce safety, you risk losing the warranty.

This bed arrived in a timely fashion. However, as my brother passed away, we did not even open it. The staff was extremely helpful with the return and most integrable. I have nothing but good words to say.
What a wonderful help for my Mother, who has had transferring issues since a health setback! I just wish the designer who invented it could come up with a solution for easy transfers to the car!
Bought this bed for long-term use and it has not disappointed. It's durable and the comfort level is exceptional.
The overall design is young and fresh. I like the larger wheels because it makes the bike more stable and easier to maneuver. It folds up perfectly. It fits in every backseat and I can easily set it aside in a restaurant or a theater without getting in anyoneβs way.
Once we received some communication about the bed from questions we had, the bed is wonderful
I love the control for the bed! So easy to use! I have an issue with the mattress! I conuously slide down, so my toes smash against the footboard! My legs don't move so I have to get someone to pull me up several times in a day! This new mattress is memory foam, I might have to switch back to an inner-spring mattress. Any thoughts on why I'm sliding down the mattress? JODI M
the support bracket does not open wide enough for me to step into the walker for proper gait & upper body support. It looks like there is a place for a mid way support bracket which would be great. It tends to lean when I turn because all the torque is on the front wheel.
This bed is a back saver. Getting my mother in and out of bed is so much easier
After a lengthy hospital stay, this wound up being the perfect bed at home. We would buy it again in a second. Itβs the true Rolls Royce of beds of this type. Amazing!
It has been an excellent choice. The bed is well-constructed, and the rotating feature makes it easy to reposition my mother. The controls are simple to use, and the bed is very comfortable.
